Established in 1850, Periquita is renowned as Portugal’s first bottled red wine. Crafted primarily from the Castelão grape, with additions of Trincadeira and Aragonêz, this wine showcases a rich ruby color. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of strawberries, blackberries, and subtle hints of vanilla and pine. The palate is well-balanced, offering a harmonious blend of fruitiness and freshness, complemented by soft tannins and a pleasant finish. Aged for 4 months in French oak barrels, Periquita Red pairs excellently with red meats, game, or firm cheeses.​
